MY STORY

My wife Julie and I were closing in on 20 years together. We were close, really close. The kind of couple that talked about everything, laughed about everything, and leaned on each other through everything. We had our boys, our faith, and a life we were building together.

Then she got sick.

Colon cancer. Chemotherapy. A colostomy bag. Eighteen months of watching the woman I loved fight harder than anyone I've ever known, while still showing up to work full-time to keep the rent paid, because that's just who she was. I took care of the kids. I took care of her. I held it together the best I could.

She didn't make it to our 20th anniversary.

HOW THIS STARTED

Here's the thing about Julie, she wasn't interested in being on YouTube. She could not have cared less about building a channel or a brand or any of it. But she knew me. She knew I'd wanted a YouTube channel for years before she ever got sick. And in the middle of everything, she looked at me and basically said, this is our niche whether we like it or not. Go do it.

So I did what I was told.

I created Julie Flynn Strong in her honor. She was in the first episodes. And now we're evolving into Uniquely Flynn, a family brand, built with my boys in mind, centered around everything we've been through and everything we're still becoming.

WHO I AM

I'm not a therapist. I'm not a clinician. I don't have a credential on the wall that qualifies me to sit across from you.

What I have is this: I am a man of deep faith who buried his wife, raised his kids alone, white-knuckled his way through the worst of it, and came out the other side with his humor intact and his heart cracked wide open. I've done the work. I'm still doing the work. And recently, I've found love again, which I never thought I'd say, and which I'll share more about when the time is right.

I'm a philosopher at heart. A dad first. A guy who says the quiet part out loud and isn't afraid to sit in the hard stuff with you.

That's my qualification.

MY FAITH

God has been the thread running through all of it, through Julie's illness, through her passing, through the confusion and the grief and the slow, uneven climb back toward something that feels like living. My faith isn't perfect and it isn't pretty. But it's real, and it's mine, and it's part of everything I bring to this work.
If you share that faith, great. If you're not sure you still do, that's okay too. You're welcome here either way.

WHY I DO THIS

Because I know what it feels like to wake up and not recognize your own life.

Because I know what it costs to keep going for your kids when you have nothing left.

Because someone should have told me sooner that healing doesn't mean forgetting, and moving forward doesn't mean leaving her behind.

I do this because Julie told me to. And because if I can help even one guy feel less alone in this, then all of it means something.

How We Work Together

Grief doesn't come with a manual. But it does come with someone who's been through it, and that's exactly what I bring to every session. We meet one-on-one, we get honest, and we figure out what you actually need right now, not what a checklist says you should need. If you're ready to stop carrying this on your own and start moving forward with support, I'm here for you. If you're ready to begin Faithfully Moving Forward Through Grief, we're here to walk alongside you.
